The Koi Fish & the Samurai Legend.
According to Japanese legend, if a koi succeeded in climbing the falls at a point called Dragon Gate on the Yellow River, it would be transformed into a dragon. Based on that legend, it became a symbol of worldly aspiration and advancement.
More generally, the Japanese associate koi (also known as carp) with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose. Because of its strength and determination to overcome obstacles, it stands for courage and the ability to attain high goals. Koi as a Samurai Warrior
Koi Symbolism is also very prevalent in Japanese culture. It is said that a Koi swims up rivers and climbs waterfalls with bravery not unlike a Samurai warrior. As well, it is said that if a Koi is caught, it will lie still beneath the knife, facing its death bravely like a Samurai facing a sword.Koi fish symbolism has gained strength over the centuries to encompass numerous positive qualities related to courage, overcoming adversity, the ability to attain the highest goals, and strong character.

Vitor Belfort knocks Luke Rockholds Block Off. Ridiculous Spinning Head Kick, One of the Best KTFO's in UFC History.
Luke Rockhold has been making a name for himself the past couple of years, climbing the mma ranks like a ravenous & experienced roofer trying to finish a roof before the skies open. Quick and precise has been this young guns rise. Winning the Strikeforce middleweight belt and coming off of impressive wins against the likes of Jacare Souza, Keith Jardine and Tim Kennedy.
However, something in the Pre fight interviews didnt sit well with me. It was the lack of respect Luke showed Vitor, not just a cliche, but a true fucking legend of the sport. Criticizing his TRT usage and his BJJ Blackbelt prowess. A mistake perhaps attributed to his youth you might say? Nah i dont think so. Disrespect and Arrogance has deeper roots and can only be corrected with decisive and strict discipline. With a force equal to that of a father disciplining his child with his belt, a black belt if you will. "I dont give a shit if he has a black belt.." were the comments made by Luke.
Wow. Really Luke Rockhold?
Listen you little punk, Vitor was fighting No Holds Barred matches when you were still a little baby sucking on your moms tit.
Show some respect or pay the consequences, as Luke quickly found out Saturday night.
The younger generation, has the internet priveldge & knowledge of all the worlds libraries and sages available to them upon the click of a mouse. Unfortunately there is still a missing link to the highest of powers and blood that runs generations that was built for combat against much tougher predators.
Vitor at the age of 36 looked more spectacular than Spiderman, as he set up and landed a text book spinning heel kick to Lukes dome en route to a JCVD Bloodsportish, shitty 80's karate movies knockout. Not too shabby for an aging fighter.
"Here ye, here ye! More TRT for Vitor i say!"
Respect your mma elders or get spanked by the BJJ Blackbelt.

The Search for the Assassins of an Innocent Man. RIP Tim Bosma.
Something i wrote on Facebook a few days ago. Nothing fancy just thought id share the sentiment.
Rest in Peace Tim Bosma. Yo the suspect in the case was the last person on the planet youd suspect for killing this innocent man just trying to sell his truck. Made history in 99 for something about a helicopter rather. had a bright future ahead of him. When you think youre too smart and you think you can get away with evil tings like premeditated murder because it becomes part of popular culture like the Kijiji murders or tv shows then youre nothing but simple tool of the devil. a pawn who got played by the ultimate puppet master. In less than a week hes caught and going to do life in the slammer for foolishness. Freedom is a currency without an exchange rate.
Cain Velasquez vs Big Foot 2
Should we let Cain commit a homicide in the cage? and keep true to his namesake and body a fool. What man in his right mind would get in the cage after losing enough blood to revive the dead sea? Would Cain be held responsible for Big Foot naiveviite? and sheer irresponsibility? Is Cain after all Bigfoots keeper?

Bleacher Report: On 10/10 Rounds, Eye Pokes & Communication & Focus.
MMA Referee Rob Hinds Talks Eye Pokes, 10-10 Rounds, Communication and Focus
By (Featured Columnist) on May 2, 2013
Longtime MMA official Rob Hinds has been inside the cage as a referee for more than 4,000 professional fights and sat outside as a judge for almost 1,000. There is not much he hasn’t seen or heard.
He is leading the charge in educating new and current MMA officials. His company, Combat Consulting, teaches MMA referees and judges in seminars around the country.Recently, he provided his insight into the controversial and rare technical decision between Gian Villante and Ovince St. Preux. At UFC 159, referee Kevin Mulhall paused the action early in the third round after Villante suffered an inadvertent eye poke from St. Preux. Mulhall then waived off the bout after Villante informed him he couldn’t see. St. Preux won the contest by majority technical decision.
“Any time a fighters tells a referee ‘I can’t see’ or ‘I can’t breathe,’ the only procedure at that time is to call the fight,” Hinds explained on Wednesday as a guest on Darce Side Radio.
Hinds said there could have been “better communication” or “more time to deliberate" or “call in the doctor”; however, once Villante admitted he couldn’t see, proper procedure was followed.
He said, “In the heat of the moment, that procedure was heard, which caused Villante to give the one incorrect answer that you can’t give a referee. At that point, once that is verbalized, you have to call the fight.
“Maybe ask him a more general question: Are you all right, man? Do you need to see the doctor?” Hinds suggested. “Normally that gives you a more general answer, and then you can call in the doctor and actually give a little bit of time.”
Eye pokes have been a sore subject in MMA for some time. Suggestions about altering the style of gloves are often bandied about. Another common question is: Why aren’t fighters given five minutes like they are for incidental groin strikes?
Hinds had this to say:
The reason a groin shot gets five minutes is because there’s absolutely no way for the doctor to check what’s happening there. You can’t pull down their shorts or jock strap and all that and examine. Any other injury, a thumb injury an eye injury the doctor can physically look at it, take an evaluation, clear blood away, ask questions, those types of things.Hinds explained that it’s not necessarily about having an automatic five-minute rule but more about proper referee procedure.
It’s a determination of the referee on how much recovery time they get. So it doesn’t need to be an automatic five minutes. Again, this is a procedural thing from referees to where they need to take their time, assess the fighter, call the doctor if necessary, and this whole time they are getting a chance to recover.

After the fight had concluded—and St. Preux had been declared the winner—the scorecards were revealed, which showed that judges Eric Colon, Michael DePasquale Jr. and Jose Tabora had scored the incomplete round 10-10.
According to Hinds, even in that short of period of time, one fighter should have been awarded 10-9 as someone had to have “some effective advantage over their opponent.”
I always say a 10-10 round is like a unicorn. Some people claim they’ve seen them, some people believe in them, but they don’t really actually exist. Now, for that 33 seconds; if they just circled each other, and nobody threw a punch, kick, knee, tried a takedown, if they did absolutely nothing but circled for the 33 seconds, then you would have a 10-10 round because you didn’t have any effective offense or any effective technique.Jose Tabora actually scored both the second and third round 10-10.
For a professional judge at that level to score a 10-10 to begin with, and then have two 10-10 rounds in one bout, that’s either the most boring bout we’ve seen or there needs to be further evaluation of those officials who score those 10-10 rounds.Hinds explained that the sudden stop at the beginning of Round 3 between Villante and St. Preux could have provoked the three 10-10 scores.
One of the things that happens with judges on incomplete rounds is it kind of takes you by surprise. You have the pause in the action due to the injury, and some judges if they’re not focused, they’ll forget what happened up until that point.Hinds offered a refreshing and insightful take on what many fighters, managers, promoters and fans have complained about lately. If more referees were to communicate better and more judges were to improve their focus, maybe there would be fewer complaints about refereeing and scoring.

Game of Thrones: Enter the Dwarf wit tha Sik Braid
In the unrelenting and merciless world of combat sports, constant evolution is a must & masterful to witness. When fighters enthrall the audience with a spectacular knockout, its thrilling to watch. When the one doing the knockout is seemingly out shape and the one getting knocked out looks to be in amazing shape it makes it that much more shocking and exciting to watch.
What does it say about the evolution and cerebral approach of the out of shape fighter. Minimizing his time in the octagon to perfection. Making each second count. Knowing if he had to go the distance his cardio would be tested.
Why even take it there?
Right off the bell, grappling the Pretorian Guard, Kongo, to the cage and applying his power and strength by muscling and bullying him to the cage and then holding him there for the better half of the round was the mma version of flying out of the gates like one of Kentuky Derbys finest steeds. Only this steed resembles more of an oversized dwarf right of the pages of Game of Thrones.
Roy Big Country Nelson: a cerebral, fearless fighter who dwarfs the competition with his heart, gameplan and belly.
Sound the alarms!
A dangerous dwarf has crossed into the fertile and rich land of Cain' an.
